👋 Welcome to Transforma
Whether you’re new here or have been practicing with me for years, I’m so happy you’re here.
I’m excited to officially introduce Transforma Club – my new online home where our community can stay connected.
It is completely free to join, and that’s where I’ll be sharing updates, new classes, conversations, announcements, and everything happening in Transforma.
Once you’re inside, you’ll also discover optional memberships with additional classes, tutorials, and live practice if you ever decide to go deeper.
There’s absolutely no pressure – I’m simply grateful you’re here.
🌿 Beyond the Practice
One of my favorite additions this month.
I created a new space called Beyond the Practice – because yoga has never been only about poses.
There are already two recorded “Let’s Talk” discussions available in Russian with English subtitles.
These conversations explore life beyond the yoga mat: personal growth, difficult experiences, moving across countries, rebuilding life, and everything that shapes who we become.
Sometimes the deepest practice begins after we roll up the mat.
🧘 Live Events
Every Wednesday at 10:00 AM (Central Time) we meet for Power Flow.
They’re live classes where we practice together, communicate, laugh, work hard, and where I can offer verbal adjustments just as I would in a studio.
Live Classes are available with an All Access membership
🎥 New On-Demand Classes
This month I added several new Express classes designed to help you build strength, improve technique, and keep practicing even when life – or an injury – requires you to adapt and modify.
📚 Inside the Practice – New Tutorials
This month I added several new technique breakdowns:
- Wrist Warm-Up
- Tuck Handstand
- Chin Stand Breakdown
- Scapula Test – How Your Shoulder Blades Actually Work
Understanding why your body moves the way it does often changes your practice more than simply repeating another pose.
📖 Book of the Month
During our long drive to Port Aransas, I finally read The Active Series Ashtanga Yoga by Sharath Jois.
The book focuses on how to maintain an Ashtanga practice when you only have about 40 minutes, and it offers thoughtful modifications for some of the more demanding postures.
I’m not personally looking for shortcuts or an easier version of the practice – I genuinely enjoy practicing the traditional sequence.
But I appreciated the reminder that life isn’t always ideal. Sometimes we travel, sometimes we’re injured, sometimes we simply don’t have two hours.
Knowing how to adapt without abandoning the practice is a valuable skill.
🙏 Teacher Who Inspired Me
This month I visited Ashtanga Yoga Austin for Mysore practice with Andrew Bresnen.
I loved this Mysore practice!
Andrew teaches in a very traditional way, but with no force. His adjustments feel supportive rather than imposed.
One adjustment I’ll remember for a long time was helping me make the bind in Marichyasana C.
Twists have always been challenging for me, so finally feeling that bind was such a gift.
I’ll definitely be returning to Andrew’s shala soon.
🌿 A Place Worth Visiting
This month I visited Breathe Meditation & Wellness in Dallas for a 90-minute Vipassana workshop with Johnathan Woodside – Dharma and Insight Meditation teacher.
It was a beautiful reminder that stillness requires practice just as much as movement does.
As yoga practitioners, we often spend so much time training the body that we forget to train attention itself.
I’ll definitely be exploring more meditation there and also will join his other classes and practices.
🔜 Looking Ahead
July is already shaping up to be exciting!
Here’s what’s coming:
- Weekly Wednesday Power Flow classes
- Surprise Express classes announced throughout the month
- More tutorials inside Inside the Practice
- A new Let’s Talk discussion (I’m still choosing the topic)
If you have an idea for a discussion you’d love me to cover, I’d love to hear from you.
💛 Closing Thoughts
Every month reminds me that progress isn’t measured only by mastering a new posture.
Sometimes progress looks like showing up when you’re tired.
Sometimes it looks like adapting instead of quitting.
Sometimes it looks like asking better questions.
Thank you for being part of Transforma.
Whether we practice together every week or you simply stop by from time to time, I’m grateful our paths have crossed.
See you on the mat – and beyond it. 🌿
